JACKSON, Miss.- For the second straight time this season, the Belhaven University men's soccer team ended a match in a draw.

On Monday evening at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium, the Blazers and local rival Millsaps College were both held scoreless in an even 0-0 tie.

With the tie, Belhaven now moves to 0-0-2 on the year. The Blazers previously drew a tie with Centenary College in their first contest of the 2017 season.

It was a very physical match on both sides, and in the first half both teams were limited to only two shots apiece  as neither team could create a steady offensive pace.

Belhaven had a couple of close calls in the second half half, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Nathan Ratzlaff, who had five shots throughout the match, hit the crossbar midway through the second half on a shot that was just off from giving the Green and Gold the advantage.

Millsaps also had multiple shots that had chances to go through, but the Blazer defense held their own, along with goalkeeper Thomas Blake, who made three great saves during the match to keep the score even.

Belhaven and the Majors both finished the match with nine shots.

The Green and Gold will return to action on Friday at home against Covenant College at 7 p.m.
