Box Score LONGVIEW, TEXAS - The Belhaven volleyball team continued their winning streak tonight with another victory over LeTourneau University out of Longview, Texas. The win gives the Blazers four wins in a row as the team has really turned things up as of late.
The Blazers won in five sets tonight with victories in the second (25-16), third (25-22), and fifth (15-8) sets. For the match, Belhaven posted 54 team kills, 8 service aces, 9 blocks, 54 assists, and 99 total digs.
For the second game in a row, freshman Carissa Pauda led the team in kills, this time with 12 kills to bring her season total up to 70.
Blaykleigh Smythe and Ryan Hardin each notched 9 kills a piece. Lauren Whiting had another spectacular game with 7 kills, 3 service aces, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and 20 digs on the night.
Jackie Fredericks, finished her night with 12 digs, 2 assists, 2 kills, and 1 service ace. Senior Kelly Aholt finished the night with a team leading 37 assists to go along with 3 kills, and 1 service ace.
Sydney McEachern would lead the team with 29 digs on the night to bring her team leading total to 207 digs on the season.
With the win, Belhaven now improves to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in ASC play. Belhaven (10-6) will travel to Marshall, Texas on Saturday to face East Texas Baptist University (7-11) in another ASC matchup.
Belhaven will be on the road for the next few weeks before returning back home to Rugg Arena to take on LeTourneau University on October 20.
