JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Concordia Texas Tornados Thursday evening inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
Erica Rempel scored the lone goal for the Blazers in the 23
rd minute of play. Rempel now has five goals on the season.
Concordia scored once in the 39
th minute and again late in the second half to give the Tornados the lead and win.
The match was full of physical play but the Blazers would only find the back of the net once.
Concordia (6-4) recorded 12 total shots and one corner kick while Belhaven (2-6-1) also tallied 12 total shots and four corner kicks. A combined 14 fouls were called on both teams.
Jessica Mahoney led the team with 4 shots while
Erica Rempel and
Dominique Farias contributed 2 shots in the match.
Goalkeeper
Noelle Hill added seven saves in the contest.
The Blazers will return to action Saturday inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium for Family Weekend, taking on University of Mary Hardin Baylor at 11:00 am.
