JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University men's soccer team collected their fourth tie of the 2017 season on Thursday evening with a 1-1 draw against Concordia University at the Bowl Stadium in American Southwest Conference action.
Belhaven is now 1-4-4 on the season and currently hold a 1-2-1 ASC record.
The Blazers put together a solid effort, but were unable to break the tie in the match in the two overtime periods.
Concordia scored the first goal of the contest early on in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead as they held the momentum heading into halftime. .
Belhaven would respond in the second half of play to even up the match. In the 68th minute of the match, Alex Hale would fire a shot past the goalkeeper off of an assist from Nathan Ratzlaff to make the match 1-1.
The Blazers collected six shots throughout the contest, as Ryan Thomas registered a team-high two shots for the Green and Gold.
Goalkeeper Thomas Blake finished the match with two saves.
The Blazers will return to the pitch to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at the Bowl Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
