BROWNWOOD, Texas - Through seven games this season, the Belhaven men's soccer team had managed an overall record of 0-4-3 entering today's game against Howard Payne University. 

Things would soon change as the Blazers would pick up their first win of the season after defeating the Yellowjackets by a score of 1-0. 

In a very physical game, one that would feature a total of five yellow cards combined between the two teams, the Blazers would manage to shoot a total of 12 shots. 

Belhaven has picked up some recent spark off the bench lately from sophomore Michah Taylor. Taylor would once again come off the bench and score the lone goal for the Blazers for the second game in a row. With the goal, Taylor now leads the Blazers in scoring with two goals on the season.

Taylors goal would come at the 68:18 mark, and the Blazers would never look back, taking the win from Howard Payne and improving to 1-4-3 overall and 1-2 in ASC. 

Alex Hale would lead the Blazers with 5 total shots and 3 of his shots being on goal. Junior Sam Joy and Senior Ryan Thomas added 2 shots a piece with 1 shot on goal for both players. It was the assist by Joy that led to Michah Taylors goal. 

For the second game in a row Michah Taylor only had one shot, but it was once again his one shot that would find the back of the net for the Blazers. 

Belhaven (1-4-3) returns home this Thursday in a game against Concordia University Texas (5-2) at Belhaven Bowl Stadium. The game is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
