JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team had to play 20 extra minutes on Saturday evening but ended in a draw inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
The Blazers (0-0-1) would finish with 10 shots in the match, while the pilots finished with eight.
The Pilots (1-1-1) would strike first in the 23
rd minute to take a 1-0 lead on the Green and Gold. On both sides of the ball, the defense was phenomenal.
With only seven seconds left in regulation, Senior Midfielder
Jessica Mahoney scored the only goal for the Blazers off of a penalty kick.
The match would go into overtime, but the Green and Gold could not find the back of the net.
Sophomore Goalkeeper
Alexis McDonald added five saves in the match.
The Blazers return to action on Saturday inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium, taking on the University of Dallas at 7 p.m.
