JACKSON, Miss.- After playing a double overtime draw against LSU Shreveport on Friday evening, the Belhaven University women's soccer team needed more extra time on Saturday night.
Belhaven recorded its first victory of the 2017 season with a 1-0 win in overtime over the University of Dallas at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
Yaharim Satterwhite knocked home the game-winning header halfway through the first overtime period off of a cross from Erica Rempel, who was rewarded with the assist on the goal.
With the victory, the Blazers improve to 1-0-1 on the season.
The Blazers needed just one shot to be netted into the goal, as they ended the match with just two shots. The Crusaders outshot the Green and Gold, 9-2.
Both defenses played solid in both halves and limited several opportunities to score throughout the evening.
Goalkeeper Noelle Hill tallied four saves in the victory.
Belhaven will return to action next Thursday, September 7 on the road at Covenant College. Kickoff for the match is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
