Women’s Soccer Shutout at Birmingham Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -  The Belhaven University women's soccer team was held scoreless in a 1-0 loss on Wednesday evening in non-conference play at Birmingham Southern College.

Opportunities on the offensive end were scarce for the Blazers on Wednesday, as they were only able to muster up one shot on goal in the contest, which came from sophomore Caley Gahagan.

The Green and Gold posted six shots in total with Alex Trammel posting two shots throughout the match.

BSC scored the lone goal of the match early on in the first half just over five minutes into the action.

The Panthers controlled the possession for a majority of the match and took a total of 19 shots, while placing seven on-goal.

Belhaven goalkeeper Noelle Hill tabbed six saves in the loss.

The Blazers have now lost three consecutive matches and drop to 1-3-1 on the year. Belhaven will next travel to Pineville, La. to open up American Southwest Conference play against Louisiana College. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon.
