Pineville, La. – The Belhaven women's soccer team won its first American Southwest Conference match and  second game of the season against the Louisiana College Wildcats Saturday afternoon, defeating the wildcats 1-0.
Erica Rempel scored the only lone goal of the game halfway through the second period to give the Blazers the lead. 
Jessica Mahoney was rewarded with the assist.
With the victory, the Blazers improved to 2-3-1 while the Louisiana College Wildcats falls to 0-3-2 on the season.
Jessica Mahoney led the team with five shots while 
Erica Rempel and 
Dominique Farias added three shots in the contest.
The Blazers had 13 shots with five on goal, while Louisiana College had two shots with one being on goal.
Goalkeeper 
Alexis McDonald added one save in the match.
Belhaven will return to action Thursday night at 5 p.m. against University of Texas at Dallas Comets in Richardson, Texas.
