JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven men's tennis team fell 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon at home on senior day against Loyola New Orleans. With the loss, the Blazers fall to 11-7 on the season.
Belhaven was swept in doubles action for just the third time this season.
Rene Ramos and
Joan Soler fell at No. 1 doubles in a 9-8 tiebreaker loss.
Dylan Throgmorton and
Travous Wilson were swept 8-0, and
Ivan Alberto Kerkoc and
Sebastian Barrientos dropped their decision at No. 3 doubles by a score of 8-2.
Rene Ramos tabbed the only victory for the Green and Gold at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win. Ramos is 14-0 in singles play this season.
Soler fell at No. 2 singles 6-0, 7-6, and Kerkoc faltered 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Devonte Thomas lost at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-1.
Sebastian Barrientos and
Owen Taylor each were defeated at No. 5 and No. 6 singles by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-3 respectively.
Belhaven will return to action on April 21 at the Ozarks.
