TYLER, Texas - The Belhaven women's basketball team was defeated by Texas Tyler, 84-49, in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) East contest Thursday night inside the Herrington Patriot Center.
UT Tyler (18-5) allowed the Blazers (11-11) to 24 first half points and allowed just 26.5 percent shooting from the field in the contest.
For the game, the Blazers only mustered up 17 shots, five from downtown in the contest.
Samara Dingiswayo finished the contest with a game-high 17 points and six boards.
Sierra Pittman tallied eight points, six from the charity stripe, three steals, and assisted on four shots.
Vamikka Smith finished with a season-high 14 rebounds to go with six points.
Michelle Obach led UTT with 14 points, while Dia Evans totaled 13 for the Patriots.
Belhaven returns to the hardwood on Saturday for its final road game of the season against LeTourneau on Saturday afternoon from Longview.
