LONGVIEW, TEXAS. - The Belhaven men's basketball team dropped a 109-84 decision to the top team in the ASC East, LeTourneau University, Saturday afternoon inside Solheim Arena.
LeTourneau's three-point marksmanship propelled the YellowJackets to the win ove the Blazers. The Jackets (18-5) connected on a season-high 17 three-pointers at 45 percent clip.Â
Belhaven (4-19)Â shot 8-for-21 from behind the arc, and made 22 shots at the foul line, the second-highest total for the team this season.Â
Junior forward
Brandon Pressley paced the Blazers with 22 points,16 rebounds and three helpers. Junior guard
Ron Davis added 15 points and a team-high six assists.Â
Sophomore guard
Brent Webber went 5-for-7 from the floor and two-for-three from downtown, giving him 14 points for the game. Freshman guard
Justin Jones scored a career-high 10 points off of the Blazers bench.Â
Six different players scored in double figures for LeTourneau, led by Alec Colhoff's 22. Jeff Martin added 12 points, eight assists and four rebounds.Â
Next up, the Blazers return home for the final two games of the 2016-17 season. Belhaven hosts East Texas Baptist on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Louisiana College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.Â
