HOW IT HAPPENED
- India Sims put the Blazers on the board first with a layup on the third possession for the Blazers.

- After a made three-point shot from Kelsey Brown and another made layup by India Sims, the Blazers found themselves leading 7-4.

- The Scots started to heat up from the field and went on an 11-0 run until  Ke'Asia Gray went to the free throw line after getting fouled and made both free throws to bring the score to 15-9 with 3:00 remaining in the first quarter.

- After a made jump shot by Kimberly Calhoun, the Blazers took a 16-15 lead heading into the final minute of the first quarter.

- The Scots went on a 5-0 run to close out the first quarter.

- With 8:25 remaining until halftime, Lauren Brooks made a layup to make the score 23-20 with the Scots leading.
 
- The Scots then went on a 17-5 run with 1:35 remaining until intermission.

-  In the final 1:30, the Blazers would not go down without a fight, as Kayla Smothers and Brittany Ford each made two crucial free throws to push the score to 37-32.

-  After a Cora Cooley jumper, the Blazers took the lead 45-44 with 5:04 left in the third quarter.

- The Blazers maintained their lead throughout the third quarter to make the score 54-49 heading into the final frame.

- Brittany Ford's three-pointer extended the Blazers lead to six points.

- With just 2:38 remaining in the ballgame the Scots took the lead from Belhaven to make the score 65-64.

- The Scots would go on an 11-4 run to close out the game.

KEY STATISTICS
- The Blazers had 10 players score in the contest, with three of them scoring double digits.

- Brittany Ford led the Blazers offensively with 20 points. Ford also shot 50 percent from behind the arc.

- Lauren Brooks scored a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

- Kayla Smothers finished the night with 10 points, five rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal.

- AaLiyaha Thornton finished just two points and two assists shy of a double-double.

- Cora Cooley finished with six points, six assists, and two rebounds.

- As a team the Green and Gold added 33 points from the bench.

UP NEXT
The Blazers will take a brief break for Christmas break and will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 30 to face off against Birmingham-Southern College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
