Blazers Stumble Against Birmingham-Southern

Birmingham, Ala. - The Belhaven University men's basketball team fell to Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday evening by a score of 93-68.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- In the two teams second meeting of the season, Birmingham-Southern seemed to have complete control of this game from the moment the ball was tipped off. 

- These two teams previously faced each other to open the season, a game in which Belhaven seemed to dominate the first half in, but would ultimately fall 110-97.

- In this rematch, Birmingham-Southern was the dominating force of the first half as they quickly jumped out to a 26-10 lead, just ten minutes into the game. 

- Belhaven struggled to score points in the first half as they would go into the locker room trailing by a score of 52-29.

- The second half did not prove to be much different for the green and gold as they would find themselves behind by 33 points with 3:59 to go in the game.

- Game two ultimately saw Birmingham-Southern cruise all the way to a 93-68 victory over the Blazers as the green and gold fell to 2-7 on the season.

KEY STATISTICS

- Victor Price had an outstanding game as he led Belhaven with 18 points on the evening..

- Isiah Brown and Kyle Patterson Sr. each added 11 points for the Blazers while Patterson led Belhaven with four assists and there steals.

- Brent Webber notched 10 points and was 2-4 from behind the arc.

- As a team the Blazers finished with 22 fast break points and 23 points off turnovers

- Belhaven also had 40 points in the paint and 49 points off the bench..

- The green and gold shot 27.6 percent from the field collectively.
