HOW IT HAPPENED

- Sul Ross State used their size to their advantage as they connected on 20 points inside the paint in the first 12 minutes of action.

- The Blazers maintained their composure and paced themselves to say within range of the lead as the Lobos were shooting nearly 60 percent from the field.

- After trailing by double digits at 27-15, Belhaven went on a 15-6 run to close the lead down to three at 33-30 late in the half.

- Isiah Brown and Jonathan Durham were the main catalysts in the run with 13 and 11 points in the first half respectively.

-  The Green and Gold had all of the momentum in the final seven minutes of the first half and ended the first half on an incredible 28-12 run to lead 43-39 at halftime.

- A 12-3 run from Sul Ross State propelled the Lobos ahead 51-46 in the opening stages of the second half.

- Belhaven did not have an answer for Caleb Thomassen from Sul Ross State who had 21 points in the first nine minutes to give the Lobos a double digit lead.

- Sul Ross remained out in front 70-61 with 7:44 left in regulation.

- Over the next four minutes of play, the Blazers caught fire offensively with a 15-7 run which included two long range three point field goals from Brent Webber to close the gap down to two at 78-76 with 3:45 remaining.

- The Lobos responded with a quick 7-0 run to jump ahead 85-76 with just over two minutes left.

- Unfortunately for the Blazers, they were unable to trim the deficit any further in the final minutes of play as Sul Ross put the game away late at the free throw line.
