HOW IT HAPPENED
-Â Â Â Â The Blazers started off the season on an impressive note as they jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead.
-Â Â Â Â After connecting on two free throws, Birmingham-Southern would end the Blazers 8-0 run, but a three-pointer by
Jonathan Durham would give the Blazers a 11-2 cushion.
-    Two straight BSC three-pointers would cut the lead to 13-10, yet the Blazers once again would use their three ball to hit three straight three's to push their lead to 22-12 with 14:43 left until the half.
-    Birmingham-Southern made things interesting in the first half as they would fight back and eventually take their first lead of the game with a layup and a free throw to give the Panthers a 28-27 lead.
-Â Â Â Â The Blazers would yet again regain the lead and even work the lead to nine points on two separate occasions as they were sitting with a 48-39 cushion with 4:47 left until the half.
-Â Â Â Â Despite being down nine points, the Panthers would go on a 10-0 run to regain their second lead of the contest, 49-48 with 2:24 left to go in half number one.
-Â Â Â Â Heading into halftime, Belhaven found itself ahead by only one point with the score being 52-51.
-Â Â Â Â Birmingham-Southern took the lead on a fast break layup right out of halftime to take the 53-52 lead.
-     Belhaven marched back down the court and took the lead 55-54, but this would be the final lead for the Blazers all night.
-    A Birmingham-Southern layup with 19:04 until the end of regulation was enough to give the Panthers the lead for the remainder of the contest.
-Â Â Â Â The second half was a different story as the Blazers would go on to fall by a final of 110-97 in the season opener.
