SHREVEPORT, La.  The Blazers volleyball team suffered their second defeat of the day, this time falling in three sets to Austin College at the Centenary Halloween Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Austin College would jump out to a big lead in the first set with a 12-3 advantage at one point during the     set. 

- The Blazers would string together 4 straight points to eventually bring the score to 16-10, yet Austin   College would once again rally and take set 1 by a score of 25-15.

- Set two did not fair any differently for the Blazers as they would get down early. The Kangaroos put         together multiple points in a row at times in order to claim set two 25-13.

- In the third set, Belhaven looked to make things interesting early as they were behind just 8-6. However,     Austin College collected four straight points to put a wedge in between the score making it 12-6. 

- The Lady Kangaroos would go on to win set three 25-12 and claim the victory over the Blazers 3-0.

KEY STATISTICS

-    The Blazers collected 25 kills as a team against Austin College.

-    Blaykleigh Smythe led the Blazers with 6 kills and 1 service ace.

-    Ryan Hardin and Lauren Whiting each had 5 kills in the match.

-    Whiting had a team-high 21 total attacks and also collected 9 digs.

-    Kelly Aholt led Belhaven with 59 assists.

-    Katy Grace Abbott for the second match in a row finished with double-digit digs, this time finishing with      15 total digs. Abbott also had 1 service ace.

UP NEXT

Belhaven (13-16) will play their final game of the season on Saturday against Tougaloo College (17-10). The game will be played at Tougaloo starting at 1:00 p.m.
