BELTON, Texas. - The Belhaven football team was defeated by the defending national champions and current No. 1 team Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday afternoon by a score of 45-7 in Belton, Texas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The No. 1 Crusaders jumped out to an early start with a 34 yard touchdown run from Bryon Proctor to take the lead 7-0 with 9:35 remaining in the first quarter.
- The Cru would extend their lead to 10-0 with a 31 yard field goal just 32 seconds left in the first quarter.Â
- After holding the defending champs to only 10 first quarter points, UMHB would score on a 38 yard pass from Kyle Jones to T.J. Josey to take the 17-0 lead.
- UMHB's Carl Robinson would connect with wide receiver Bryce Wilkerson to jump out to an early 24-0 start with 7:19 left in the second quarter.
-The Blazers offense would give away an interception which UMHB's Kris Brown would return for a 40 yard touchdown to go ahead 31-0.
-The Crusaders would score two more touchdowns on runs by Olan Vining and Carl Robinson giving UMHB a 45-0 lead.
-With 10:14 remaining in the game, the Blazers would get on the board with a 5 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Hunter McEachern to wide receiver LaMarcus Caradine to trim the score to 45-7.
- The No. 1 Crusaders defense came in to todays game allowing an average of 5 points per game to opponents, as they would take the win over the Blazers 45-7.
