JACKSON, Miss. - Blazers volleyball hosts the Belhaven Classic inside Rugg Arena this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10. Competing in the Classic along with the Blazers will be Mississippi College, Centenary College, Huntingdon College, Lyon College and Williams Baptist College. 

Belhaven will play two games on Friday and two more on Saturday. The Blazers take on Huntingdon (3 p.m.) and Centenary (7 p.m.) on Friday, and will face off against Lyon (3 p.m.) and Mississippi College (7 p.m.) on Saturday. In total, three tournament games will be played at Belhaven on Friday while three additional games will take place at Mississippi College in Clinton. Belhaven (1-3) began the 2016 season last weekend at the Stormy Petrel Challenge in Atlanta, Ga. The Blazers picked up their first win of the season against the Keystone Giants, earning a 3-1 victory in their second game of the Petrel Challenge. Junior setter Kelly Aholt and freshman right-side hitter Lexi Brantley were both named to the Petrel Challenge All-Tournament Team. Aholt recorded 102 assists,18 kills and 32 digs while Brantley turned in 24 kills,12 assists and four blocks. 

The Blazers have a combined 40-20 all-time record versus their four Belhaven Classic opponents. Lyon, memers of the NAIA, are the only school to own a winning record against the Green Gold, winning two of the previous three matches.
