JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven men's soccer team lost a tightly contested 2-0 match to Riverside Drive rival Millsaps College Tuesday evening.
Millsaps' Matt Crooker scored in the 27th minute of play to give the Majors a 1-0 advantage.
Nico Roth found the back of the net in the 68th minute to give Millsaps a two-goal cushion over the Blazers.
Shots were hard to come by for Belhaven, as the Blazers totaled just four shots for the match with just one being on target.
Ryan Thomas, Sam Joy, Jack Cutler and Alex Mason fired one shot each for the Blazers.
The Majors recorded eight total shots while tallying just two shots on goal.
Millsaps improves to 5-5 with the win while Belhaven falls to 2-5-1 with the defeat.
Next up, the Green and Gold travels to Mount Berry, Ga. on Saturday, Oct. 1 to face the Berry College Vikings. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET.
