AUSTIN, Texas - The Belhaven volleyball team wrapped up the first of two American Southwest Conference crossovers Saturday afternoon at the Concordia Fieldhouse, falling to Howard Payne in straight sets (24-26, 14-25, 23-25).
After a slow start by both teams, Howard Payne (4-7) out-attacked the Green and Gold (6-9) 26-15 in the final two sets.
Kelly Aholt led the way for the Blazers in the final match of the Crossover with six kills, two blocks and 14 assists.Â
Abbey Herman collected 23 digs, while
Jackie Gunderson recorded 16 digs and four kills.Â
Shelbie Harry finished with 10 kills for the Yellowjackets.
Belhaven will return home for four of its next five matches, with all five matches in the Jackson-area. The first match will be against East Texas Baptist on Friday night inside Rugg Arena.
