AUSTIN, Texas - The Belhaven women's soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision to the Concordia Texas Tornados Friday afternoon in Austin, Texas.Â
Madi Timmons and Peyton Heilig scored for Concordia (2-1-1) in the first 16 minutes of play, putting Belhaven (1-3) in an early hole.Â
Jessica Mahoney cut the Tornados' lead down to one goal, finding the back of the net in the 28th minute off of an assist from
Erica Rempel.Â
Concordia scored four minutes into the second half and once more in the 64th minute to take a 4-1 lead.Â
Rempel recorded her first collegiate goal with just over a minute remaining to round out the scoring.Â
The Tornados outshot Belhaven 17-6, but the Blazers did record five shots on goal for a .833 shots on goal percentage.Â
Rempel and Mahoney led the Blazers with two shots on goal each.Â
Alexis McDonald collected eight saves in goal for the Green and Gold.Â
The Blazers return to action on Saturday in Belton, Texas, taking on the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 2 p.m.Â
