AUSTIN, Texas - The Belhaven men's soccer suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to the Concordia Texas Torndaos Friday afternoon in Austin, Texas.Â
The two teams played 86 minutes of scoreless soccer before the Tornados drew a Belhaven foul inside the 18-yard box. Diego Outerial sent the ensuing penalty kick into the back of the net for the game-winning goal.Â
Belhaven totaled nine shots to Concordia's six, but put just two shots on goal.
Jack Cutler and
Somto Ngwudike recorded one shot on goal each.Â
Josh Gates made four saves in goal for the Green and Gold.Â
Belhaven drops to 0-3-1 with the loss while Concordia improves to 5-1. The Blazers return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon in Belton, Texas, facing the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders.Â
