BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Belhaven volleyball team defeated NCAA Division II Miles College in straight sets, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-22), Tuesday night at the Knox-Windham Gymnasium.Â
The Blazers (5-4) held the Miles (3-6) offense to just 16 kills on a -.015 attacking percentage. The Green and Gold totaled 13 errors and finished the night with a .192 attacking percentage. No player for Belhaven totaled more than three errors in the match.Â
Blaykleigh Smythe finished with a match-leading 10 kills and added four digs.Â
Lauren Whiting and
Jackie Gunderson each added six kills apiece, while Gunderson totaled 18 digs.Â
Kelly Aholt tallied 31 assists and added five kills in the win for the Green and Gold.Â
Skyler Johnson led the Golden Bears in kills with seven and digs with 18.Â
Up next, the Blazers begin American Southwest Conference play with a matchup against Texas-Tyler on Friday night from Herrington Patriot Center in Tyler.Â
