JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven Softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep of Hardin-Simmons University Friday afternoon, winning 9-0 and 2-0 to extend the Blazers win streak to 17 games. 
Julienne Broussard and 
Jordan Herring both pitched two-hit shutouts against the Cowgirls in the games. Broussard (11-2) tossed seven strikeouts over five innings, allowing one walk with the two hits against. Herring also had seven strikeouts over seven innings with three walks. 
In game one, the Blazers scored in each of their four innings at the plate. 
Makenzie Hawkins picked up her first of three RBIs with a double to score 
Dani Craft in the first. She would also hit a two RBI single in the second. 
Taylor O'Dell also had a two RBI single, with a ball hit into right field in the first that extended the lead to 3-0 after one. 
O'Dell would be on base in the third when 
Crystal Kehtel hit a two-run homerun to break open the game to 7-0. 
Savannah Lyon hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth and Hawkins scored on a past ball to give the Blazers a 9-0 victory. 
The Blazers finished the game with 10 hits and also had four walks. 
In game two, the Blazers could only generate two runs of offense, but it was more than enough for the win. 
Hawkins put the Blazers on the scoreboard in game two with a sac fly to left, scoring Craft. 
O'Dell had the other RBI for Belhaven in the fourth. 
The Blazers return to action on Saturday with the finale against Hardin-Simmons. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. at Jim McLeod Field.
