HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Belhaven Softball Head Coach Kevin Griffin won his 200th career game on Tuesday as the Blazers swept Rust College in a doubleheader 9-0 and 11-1.

In game one, Belhaven's victory was Griffin's 200th victory in his sixth season with the program. Griffin sits at a career mark of 201-95 after today.

Makenzie Hawkins started the scoring in game number one with an RBI single to left center that scored Dani Craft from third. Hawkins then came around to score on a fielder's choice later in the inning.

Haley Yasses started off the second inning with a massive homerun to left field, putting the Blazers up 3-0.

In the third inning, Crystal Kehtel had a two-RBI single up the middle and Mary Austin Barber followed it up by scoring after pinch-running for Kehtel on an error.

Megan Goss capped off the scoring for game one in the fourth inning with a bases-clearing single down the right field line.

Jordan Herring tossed the first two innings of game one, recording five strikeouts and allowing just one hit.

Julienne Broussard picked up the win by rule with an inning in relief, recording two strikeouts in her appearance.

In game two, Herring started the scoring with a sacrifice fly that scored Craft in the top of the first. Toni Wilson then followed it up with a RBI single to score Makenzie Hawkins.

Rust capitalized on a Belhaven's only error of the day to score an unearned run in the bottom of the first.

After that, it was all Belhaven, as Herring had another RBI with a double to left center to score Hawkins.

In the fourth inning, Hannah Holloway started the scoring with a RBI single. After the bases were loaded, Kehtel cleared them with a triple to center field.

The Blazers went on to add four more runs in the fifth to secure the run-rule victory.

Sara Beth Harbour picked up her first win of the year with her first start. Harbour scattered three hits and one unearned run over three innings with three strikeouts.

Taylor Surrento pitched one inning in relief, efficiently as possible, making nine pitches, recording three strikeouts.
