CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The Belhaven Blazers fell to the University of the Ozarks 84-88 on Thursday night in a back-and-forth contest that saw the Blazers shoot a season best .579 from the field
Belhaven cut a 15-point deficit in the middle of the second half down to two points with 1:07 to go, but the Blazers were unable to get any closer as the Eagles matches Belhaven on the next few possessions before sealing the game with a pair of free throws with two seconds to go.
De'la Mayers led the Blazers in scoring and finished with 20+ points for the fourth straight contest, connecting on 8-of-12 shots from the floor along with four points from the free-throw line. Mayers added seven rebounds to go along with his 20 points. The senior also had four assists, a block and a steal.
Josh Gaskin picked up a double-double for the Blazers in the contest with 14 points and 11 rebounds. It is Gaskin's fourth double-double of the season and fifth of his career.

Dyron Anderson also joined Gaskin and Mayers in double figures with 18 and 10 points, respectively.
The Blazers will remain on the road and head to the Dallas suburb of Richardson to face the University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday in an ASC East Division clash. Tip off is set for 3:00 p.m. against the Comets.
