MARSHALL, Texas – The Belhaven Men's Basketball team dropped its rematch with East Texas Baptist Thursday night
 
The Blazers took a lead with the opening basket of the game, but ETBU started strong and opened up as much as a 20-point lead late in the first half.
 
Belhaven cut the deficit back and slowly worked it to a seven point game midway through the second half, but were unable to reel back in the Tigers.
 
De'la Mayers led the Blazers and all scorers with 23 points in the game. The senior was 10-of-16 from the field and also led the Blazers with seven rebounds.
 
Josh Carpenter and Josh Gaskin also joined Mayers in double figures. Carpenter had 18 points in the game, including two three pointers. Gaskin was second on the Blazers with five rebounds and had 11 points.
 
Belhaven will wrap up the season on Saturday as the Green and Gold head to Pineville, Louisiana to take on Louisiana College in the season finale. Tip is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday.
