Belhaven's offense went cold, however, as the Blazers went four minutes between made field goals. UMHB capitalized by reeling off 12 straight points to take a 15-11 lead with 13:06 remaining in the first half. The Crusaders would hold a lead over the Blazers for the remainder of the game.
A short jumper by UMHB's Austin Stolte extended the Crusaders lead to nine points at the 8:08 mark of the half, but a
Brandon Pressley jumper and Price fastbreak layup brought the Blazers back within five points.
Belhaven remained within single digits of the Crusaders until the three minute mark of the first half, but UMHB ended the period on a 9-4 run to put the Green and Gold in a 13-point hole heading into the halftime break.
