JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 win over ASC foe LeTourneau University Thursday night inside the brand-new Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
The Blazers jumped out to a 3-0 first-half lead over the Yellow Jackets, outshooting LeTourneau 6-3 through the first 45 minutes of play.
Four different Blazers recorded their first goals of the season.
Tom Aston got things started for the Green and Gold, finding the back of the net just three minutes into the game. Aston's goal was assisted by
Nicolas Cornejo.
Kobe Van Someren made it 2-0 in favor of Belhaven in the 27th minute, and
Ryan Thomas notched the Blazers third goal of the game in the 40th minute.
The Blazers scoring was rounded out by
John Dunbar in the 77th minute, as the sophomore midfielder slotted a penalty kick attempt past the LeTourneau goalkeeper into the left corner of the goal.
Belhaven (3-6-1) fired eight shots on goal for the game and allowed LeTourneau (4-5-2) to get just one shot on frame.
Aston, Van Someren and
Somto Ngwudike led the Blazers with two shots each.

Josh Gates recorded one save in goal and collected his fourth shutout of the season.
With the win, the Blazers are now 3-2 in American Southwest Conference play.
Next up, the Green and Gold hosts East Texas Baptist inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the women's game.
