JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven Women's Soccer team used an early first half goal to defeat the Lady Majors of Millsaps College, 1-0 on Wednesday night at Harper Davis Field.
Belhaven (2-5-1) defeats Millsaps (2-7-1) for the ninth time in program history (9-4-1) and have won three out of the last four meetings against the Lady Majors.

Ellen Socash scored her first goal of the career in the 21st minute off an assist by
Ashley Harber to seal the match for the Blazers.

Alexis Molero collects her third clean sheet of the season, while saving three shots.
"Our defense did a good job at neutralizing their attackers," said head coach
Josue Sabillon. "Ellen's goal was capitalized on pure hustle. Overall, the team earned this win and I am happy with the effort from both of starters as well as our bench."
The Blazers will return home on Saturday, October 3 against Sul Ross State. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Belhaven Bowl.
