CLINTON, Miss. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team fell in its season opener to Mississippi College 7-0 on Thursday evening.
The Blazers dropped the match held at Longabaugh Field, their first defeat in a season opener in series history.
Belhaven also drops their first season opening match since 2005, snapping an 8-0-1 mark.
The Blazers (0-1) started strong for the first 20 minutes of the match, but the goals started coming for the Lady Choctaws (1-0) with three in the final 24 minutes of the first half.
Mississippi College would go on to add four more in the second half.
The Blazers only attempted five shots, with one of those on goal for the match.
Up next, the Blazers will make their home debut under the lights on Saturday against Asbury at 7:00 p.m. in the Belhaven Bowl.
