JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven women's soccer team falls in its ASC opener to the Mary Hardin-Baylor Lady Cru 3-0 on Thursday evening at the Belhaven Bowl.
The Lady Cru of Mary Hardin-Baylor (2-1-1, 1-0-0) scored two goals early in the first half within a five-minute period from the 14
th minute to the 19
th minute. The Lady Cru would add a second half goal in the 69
th minute.
"Tonight was very disappointing; we just came out flat," said head coach
Josue Sabillon.
The Blazers (0-4, 0-1) took thirteen shots in the match, with seven on goal.
Even though giving up three goals, freshman goalkeeper
Alexis Molero contributed 11 saves during the match.
"We are in a position now to get a win, no matter how it comes," said Sabillon.
Belhaven will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Belhaven Bowl against Concordia Texas.
