BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Belhaven Women's Soccer Team falls to Birmingham-Southern 7-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Blazers (0-3) fall to the Panthers (4-1) at Goldfarb Field, bringing Belhaven's current losing streak to six matches, dating back to last season.
The Panthers got the scoring going early with two quick goals in the fourth minute. After a third goal in the 55
th minute, Birmingham-Southern scored four more times in a seven-minute span from the 73
rd minute to the 79
th minute.
Birmingham-Southern wins the third game in the current series, and they are 3-1 against Belhaven. The last time the Blazers defeated the Panthers was on October 20, 1997, and they have been outscored 1-14 in the last three matches.
Belhaven drops to 32-45-4 against institutions from the state of Alabama.
The Blazers will return home on Thursday, September 17 to face off in the ASC opener against Mary Hardin-Baylor. The match is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Belhaven Bowl.
