JACKSON, Miss.—The Belhaven tennis teams completed a perfect weekend with two 9-0 victories over cross-town rival Tougaloo College Friday afternoon. Both the men's and women's teams showed dominance to open up their respective seasons with 1-0 records.

In women's doubles, the Blazers earned impressive 8-0 victories in the first two doubles matches. With an 8-2 victory in the third game, the Blazers limited the Bulldogs to a point in only two games.
In the women's singles, the Blazers imposed their will on the Bulldogs, as they earned straight set victories. Junior,
Stephanie Smith easily knocked off Symone Booth 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomore, Katie Campbell also showed dominance, as she defeated Tougaloo's Taralyn Powell 6-0,6-0.
Belhaven only dropped three points in the four other singles matches to round up the season opener.
On the men's side, the Blazers defeated the Bulldogs 9-0 for the third consecutive time dating back to 2013 season.
In doubles, the Blazers gave up two points in three matches.
Andrew Day and Laclan Puvol kept the Bulldogs off the board, as they won decisively 8-0 over Tougaloo's Julius Gladney and Jimmy Pomerlee.
In men's singles, sophomore,
Ignacio Osse defeated Tougaloo's Joshua Agee 6-0, 6-1. In a similar fashion, sophomore,
Andrew Day defeated Togaloo's Keith Holmes 6-2, 6-0.
All the other men's singles were perfect for the Blazers.
The Blazers host Georgia Gwinnett College and Rust College next Friday in non-conference action. All the action gets underway at 1:00 PM.
