MOBILE, Ala.- The Belhaven men's and women's tennis teams squared off against the College of Coastal Georgia on day two of the Mobile Roundup at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama Saturday morning. The men's team (6-1, 3-0 SSAC) defeated the Mariners 5-2 while the women (5-3, 2-1 SSAC) fell 7-0.

In women's doubles, the Blazer's Stephanie Smith and Elizabeth Chrestman lost 4-8 to Nicole Faas and Priti Rijal. Mary Lichlyter and Rachel Jeffcoat followed with a loss to the Mariners' Elekta Hunter and Kristina Polakovic 2-8. In the final doubles match, the Blazers' Katherine Campbell and Brittany Keeling came up empty 3-8 to Sunshine Beba and Luisa Lopes.

In women's singles, Belhaven suffered defeats in all the matchups. Rachel Jeffcoat and Elizabeth Chrestman were the only Blazers to come away with points in their matches. Jeffcoat fell 1-6, 0-6 to the Mariners' Priti Rijal, and Chrestman fell 1-6, 0-6 to Kristina Polakavic.

The Belhaven men came into the Coastal Georgia match having won four straight and went it was all said and done, the Blazers extended it to five with a dominating performance. It was the third straight Southern States Athletic Conference victory.

In men's doubles, the Blazers' Andre Borghi and Enrico Patriarca defeated Erick Bermudez and Malhar Mall 8-4. Jefferson Nino and Nikita Lisov flew past the Mariners' Louis Volclair and Jose Zaatini 8-2 while the duo of David Mejia and Daniel Prado defeated Alejandro Aqullino 8-2.

In men's singles, Andre Borghi bested Louis Volclair of Coastal Georgia 6-4, 6-2; Nikita Lisov defeated Jose Zaatini 6-1, 6-0; Jefferson Nino won 6-1, 6-2 over Erick Bermudez, and David Mejia rounded things out with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Alejandro Aquillion.

The Blazers are scheduled to host Rust College in non-conference play on Tuesday. Matches are set to begin at noon. The men will also travel to NCAA Division I Jackson State for a 2:00 PM match Tuesday afternoon.
