Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FORT WORTH, Texas – The Belhaven softball team saw their four game winning streak come to an end on Saturday before rebounding in their second game to improve to 5-1 on the season. The Blazers turned to senior Katy Adair in the pitching circle against Oklahoma City, and the Houston native lasted the entire game. She allowed three runs on eight hits, while recording three strikeouts to go with three walks en route to her first loss of the season.

Belhaven mustered just four hits in the early season battle of top 10 squads, while shortstop Emily Todd provided the team's lone RBI. The Stars countered with eight hits, highlighted by Kyndra Holasek and Jocelin Diaz each going for multi-hit games. Each drove in a run, while Maxime van Dalen drove in another.

"Our girls played toe to toe with the #3 team in the nation," Head Coach Kevin Griffin said. "We had an opportunity to win the game, and that's all I can ask of my team."

The final game of the Classic saw the Blazers overcome an early 6-0 deficit to return to their winning ways. Senior Jessica Paris received the start for the Blazers, but lasted just one inning before turning it over to the bullpen. Shelby Watson recorded her first victory of the season after throwing 5.2 innings and allowing just three hits.

"Shelby gave us some great innings today," Griffin said. "We needed her to stop the bleeding, and she was able to do just that."

Offensively, the Blazer attack was led by junior Josie Porter, who went 3 for 4 at the plate with a home run and three RBI. Watson, Hitt, Adair, Carly Yasses, and Brittni Trawick each added an RBI, and Belhaven won their fifth game of the young season.

The Blazers will return to action on Tuesday with an exhibition at Jackson State University. This first pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
