JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven women's basketball team improved to 6-2 (1-1 SSAC) on the year with a comfortable 72-45 victory over Brewton Parker. The Blazers ended a two game skid with Friday's victory.
"We shot the ball really well for us to be coming off a break," said head coach
Steve Calder. "Our girls played really well as a unit, and that's what you want to see as a coach."
Belhaven had commanding leads in both the first and second halves. The Blazers finished the first half with a 14-point cushion and cruised in the second half of play.
Ariel Wilson and
Sierra Pittman's 12 points each led the Blazers offensively. Wilson also added three rebounds and an assist in the contest.

Each Belhaven player saw at least eight minutes of action on the floor, and all but two Blazers were able score at least one bucket in the contest.
Collectively, Belhaven shot 44 percent (27-61) from the field, but only 31 percent (4-13) from deep range.
