JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven women's soccer team fell 7-0 Saturday night to Auburn-Montgomery in Southern States Athletic Conference action, their third loss in as many games. AUM picked up their first conference victory and now stands at 1-1 in league play.
"The bottom line is that they came out to play with drive and heart, and we didn't," Head Coach
Josue Sabillon said. "We have to regroup and focus on Bethel."
The Lady Warhawks outshot the Blazers 35-2, including a 24-1 mark on goal. Morgan Glenn and Chloe Crook split time in the goal to combine for the shutout that gave AUM their sixth win of the year. Senior goalkeeper
Nicole Walsh had a busy night, recording 17 saves en route to becoming Belhaven's new all-time leader in that category.
"Nikki gets the good with the bad sometimes, so I wish tonight could have turned out differently on the scoreboard for her," Sabillon said. "With that said, this is an extreme accomplishment that she should be very proud of."
Belhaven returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Mckenzie, Tennessee to take on Bethel in another conference matchup. The contest is set to begin at 5:00 pm.
