JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven volleyball team fell in four sets to Brenau in the final home match of the season. In a highly contested match, the Blazers fell by set scores 16-25, 25-19, 20-25, 21-25.
"We played really well, and had players making plays all over the court," said head coach
Justin Dee. "There were times when we needed to push a little more, but overall, I'm really proud of the girls' effort today."
Taylor Hall's 13 kills on 31 total attacks spearheaded Belhaven's attack.
Blaykleigh Smythe added seven kills and 24 total attacks on the evening.
Alyson Plyler and
Kelly Aholt assisted on 29 of the Blazers' kills with 15 and 14 respectively.
On the defensive end,
Jackie Rhyne's 24 digs led the Blazers. Smythe added one solo block, and four assisted blocks on the afternoon.
The Blazers will travel to Loyola on Halloween night for a must win match. The first serve is set for 7:00 pm.
"We must come out and play with all that we have in order have a chance to go to the conference tournament, said Dee."
