PULASKI, Tenn. – The Belhaven women's soccer team dropped their fourth contest of Southern States Athletic Conference action on Saturday, falling 4-0 to Martin Methodist College. The Blazers now stand at 3-8-0 on the year, while the 8th-ranked Lady Redhawks remain unbeaten in conference contests.

"Tonight was a battle all game, but our second half performance was much stronger than the first," Head Coach Josue Sabillon said. "Our team played with so much heart that they created two clear breakaways that could have changed the game. It was a total team effort with disciplined defending, and I was proud of the fight our girls showed tonight."

Caroline Ladaga da Silva floated the first goal of the night into the back of the net in the 25th minute, and teammate Taylor Samsel added a pair within the next 11 minutes. Martin Methodist carried a 3-0 lead into the locker room after one half, and Ladaga da Silva put on the finishing touch with just six seconds remaining in the game.

Nicole Walsh recorded ten saves in the net for the Blazers, giving her nine career contests with at least that many. Samantha Wisson and Jhani Williams combined to give the Lady Redhawks their sixth shutout and seventh victory of the year.

Martin Methodist outshot their guests 30-2, including 14-0 mark on frame. Additionally, The Lady Redhawks took a 3-1 advantage in set pieces in the victory.
Belhaven returns to action on Thursday, when they will host the University of Mobile at the Belhaven Bowl. The match is set to begin at 5:00 pm.
