Box Score MOBILE, Alabama - The Belhaven volleyball team dropped to 4-11 on the season and 0-4 in Southern States Athletic Conference action with a loss to the University of Mobile on Saturday night. The defeat came in consecutive sets with scores of 17-25, 14-25, and 12-25.
"We went from one of the best matches we played all year to one we struggled the most in," Head Coach
Justin Dee said. "We weren't able to excute our gameplan, which allowed Mobile to run whatever they wanted."
A pair of sophomores were the bright spots offensively for the visiting Blazers, as
Taylor Hall and
Molly Boyer tallied four kills apiece.
Alyson Plyler led Belhaven in assists with five.
Katherine Owen led the way defensively, picking up 11 digs while contributing two service aces.
Mobile is now 10-7 overall and remains undefeated (3-0) in SSAC play. The biggest Ram weapon of the night was Jessica Rule, racking up 13 kills. Reagin Boggs finished her evening with an impressive 26 assists, while Cayce May was the team leader in digs with eight.
The Blazers look to rebound on Tuesday night, when they travel to Clinton to take on non-conference opponent Mississippi College. The match against the Choctaws is set to begin at 6:00 pm.
