JACKSON, Miss.—The Belhaven tennis teams completed a perfect weekend with two 9-0 victories over cross-town rival Tougaloo College. In the final tune-up before the SSAC tournament, both Belhaven teams looked as strong as they have all season.
 
The women only dropped two games in the three doubles matches of the afternoon, earning 8-1 victories at first and second doubles, with third doubles posting an 8-0 shutout.
 
Singles went just as well for the Blazers as they earned straight set victories across the board. Ashley McLendon rebounded from a loss on Friday night to post a 6-1, 6-3 win over Symone Booth at first singles. Indi Mire recorded an easy win at second singles as well, beating Maya May 6-0, 6-0.
 
Belhaven only dropped three games the rest of the way down the lineup to improve to 10-5 on the year heading into this week's conference tourney.
 
On the men's side, Belhaven defeated Tougaloo 9-0 for the second time this season.
 
The Blazers displayed a herculean effort against the Bulldogs by dropping four total games in the entire match. Nikita Lisov and Andres Yepez won at first doubles 8-1 and Lisov finished off a perfect day with a 6-1, 6-2 win a first singles.
 
Every other match was perfect for Belhaven.
 
The SSAC tournament begins this Thursday and the Blazers (12-3) are playing their best tennis heading towards a potential conference title.
