MOBILE, Ala. – One day after a tough loss to highly-ranked William Carey, the Blazer men's tennis team got back on the winning side of things with an 8-1 victory over Mobile. Belhaven dropped the first match of the day, but pulled out the final eight matches to capture another SSAC win.
The Blazers' first doubles duo could not rebound from a slow start and ultimately fell 5-8 for Belhaven's only blemish of the day.
Jefferson Nino and
David Mejia made quick work of their opponents at second doubles, winning 8-0.
Daniel Prado and Enrcio Patriarca gave the Blazers their first match lead of the day with an 8-5 win at the third flight.
Nikita Lisov got revenge on Fernando Paiva, who had defeated him in doubles, with a straight set victory at first singles. Lisov surrendered only three games in a 6-3, 6-0 win.
Nino capped off his impressive day with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Lucas Tristao.
Andres Yepez and Mejia also finished off straight-set victories to clinch the Blazers their third win in the SSAC.
