GAINSVILLE, Ga.-The Belhaven volleyball team wrapped up the week with a solid 3-1 win at Brenau University in a Southern States Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers took the match by the final set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 17-25, and 25-21.
The win completed a 4-0 week that started with wins over Mississippi College and Centenary on Tuesday followed by an SSAC win at Truett-McConnell College Friday night. Belhaven is now 9-2 overall and are off to a 2-0 start in conference play. Each one of Saturday's sets was tightly contested and the Blazers really had to work to pull out the win.
“This was a tough test for us, but we were able to battle and come out on top with a big SSAC win,” said Belhaven Head Coach Jordan Lay. “We really had to stay disciplined and focus on our style of volleyball. I think the results show that. We had to fight for every single point and our players never gave an inch. I'm very proud of every one of our players.”
