Box Score
MOBILE, Ala.-The Belhaven men's basketball dropped its final regular season game Thursday night, losing on the road at Spring Hill College 68-59 in a Southern States Athletic Conference action. The Blazers rallied from an 11 point second half deficit to tie the game at 55-55 with 4:30 to go, but it wasn't enough as the Badgers outscored the Blazers 13-4 down the stretch for the win.

Belhaven's largest lead of the night came early in the game when senior guard Woodie Howard knocked down a field goal to make it a 5-2 score with 18:40 to go in the half. Spring Hill took the advantaged back at 7-5 a minute later on a Todd Martin bucket and from there the Badgers would lead the rest of the half. Spring Hill went up by as many as eight points with under three minutes to go, but Belhaven chipped away at the deficit by scoring seven of the last nine points in the opening 20 minutes. Belhaven junior guard Jordan Butts sunk two free throws to close the half sending the Blazers to the locker room down 31-28 at the break.

Belhaven pulled to within one at 31-30 when senior forward Brittion Smith found the bottom of the net on a jumper to start the second period. Spring Hill then surged out to an eight point lead at 38-30 with 17:53 to play and then eventually built the 55-44 cushion. Arnold and freshman guard Datodrick Pinkston fueled the Blazers 11-0 charge that tied the game, scoring four points and three points respectively. That's when Thelen stepped up and hit what would be the basket of the game for the Badgers. His field goal sparked a 13-2 run that put the game away for Spring Hill.

Belhaven (14-15, 9-9 SSAC) was led by Howard with 18 points and nine rebounds followed by Pinkston who fired in12 points off the bench. Arnold added 10 points and two assists while Butts fell just short of the 10 point mark with nine points and four rebounds. Belhaven has now lost four in a row and have struggled shooting from the field down the stretch. Belhaven hit only 35.7 percent of its field goals (20 for 56) Thursday night.

Spring Hill (13-12, 7-10 SSAC) had a big night from Thelen who dropped in a game high 25 points.
