ALCORN, Miss. – The Belhaven Volleyball team got back in the win column with a commanding win over host Alcorn State on Tuesday evening. Belhaven notched their twelfth 3-0 shutout of the season, rebounding nicely from their tough defeat versus Lee last weekend.

The Blazers found a formula that worked from the beginning of the match and Alcorn was never able to find a way to stop Belhaven's attack.

Belhaven took the first set 25-11 behind the attacks of Taylor Williams and Natalie Davis. Davis connected on all of her first set attacks and finished with ten kills on the night, trailing only Williams who racked up 11 kills.
The second and third sets weren't much different of an outcome with the Blazers winning handily 25-10 and 25-13 respectively. The win improved Belhaven to 17-4 on the season.

Erin Bradley added 30 assists to her record-breaking career totals and Gabriella Zorzoli led Belhaven on defense with ten digs on the back line.

Perhaps the two most impressive statistics on the night were recorded by front-line stalwarts Williams and Davis. Williams moved into third place on the all-time career kills list, while Davis finished 10 of her 12 attempts for a .833 hitting percentage. That mark is the best by a Belhaven player with as many attempts this season.

The two teams will match up again when the Lady Braves come to Rugg Arena in two weeks.

Belhaven leaves this week for a two game road trip against Southern Wesleyan and Emmanuel on Thursday and Saturday before returning home for another four game home stand.
