Jackson, MS-The Belhaven volleyball team suffered a 3-0 Southern States Athletic Conference loss to 24th ranked Spring Hill College on Saturday afternoon. The final set scores were 7-25, 20-25, and 21-25. The Blazers had a rough first set and couldn't recover against the Badgers who are a perfect 18-0 on the season and own a 6-0 SSAC mark.
Belhaven (12-4, 3-2 SSAC) was led by
Natalie Davis with 10 kills followed by
Christina Atwood who slammed nine kills and had 13 digs in the match.
Leigh Anne Huddleston fired in seven kills to round out the attack leaders.
Erin Bradley had 28 assists and a pair of kills.
Taylor Williams dug out nine Badger attack attempts on defense and
Samantha O'Malley contributed five digs.
Spring Hill was led by Yiting Cao with a match high 20 kills while also gathering in seven digs in the contest. Casandra Marchand-Stewart had nine kills and Abbey Roam contributed eight kills and a team best 11 digs. Taryn Nash posted a match high 37 assists for the Badgers.
Belhaven will take the court again on Tuesday night when they travel to cross town rival Millsaps College for a showdown with the Majors. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7:00 PM.
