Jackson, MS-The Belhaven volleyball team topped NCAA Division I Alcorn State University Friday night in Rugg Arena 3-0. The final set scores went in the books as 25-15, 25-10, and 25-14. It was the second victory over the Braves this season.

Belhaven (12-3) jumped out to early leads in each set and controlled the momentum throughout the course of the night. Natalie Davis had a solid match slamming a team high eight kills in 13 total attempts en route to a .462 hitting percentage. Christina Atwood landed seven kills and Leigh Anne Huddleston contributed five kills in the winning effort. Erin Bradley assisted on 23 points and came up with five digs and a solo block. Lauren Zell led the Blazers in digs with six and also had an ace. Taylor Williams had four digs and four kills while Serita Ingram had two solo and two block assists.

Alcorn State University (2-11) was paced by Jasmine Jones with five kills followed by Courtney Small with four kills and a team high eight digs. Manola Blatter had 13 assists and an ace in Friday night's match.

Belhaven will be on the court again Saturday as they entertain Spring Hill College in a Southern States Athletic Conference showdown beginning at 1:00 PM.
