Montgomery, AL-The Belhaven softball team lost both games of a Southern States Athletic Conference West Divsion doubleheader at Faulkner University Friday afternoon. The Blazers, ranked 8th in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, lost game one 2-1 in 10 innings and were shutout in the second game of the day 3-0.

Game One
The first game went all the way to the 10th inning as each team scored one time through the first seven. Faulkner was finally able to score in the bottom of 10th to take home the win. Rian O'Bannon led the way for the Blazers with two hits and the only run batted in. Sara Burns went nine plus innings and took the loss allowing two runs which were both unearned on two hits. Emily Jimmerson pitched all 10 innings for Faulkner to pick up the victory in the circle.

Game Two
Faulkner did all the scoring in game two picking up a single run in the fourth followed by two runs in the fifth inning. Heather Smith was 2 for 3 for the Eagles with two runs batted in and Kaylah Hall and the other RBI. Kayla Maldonado had two hits for the Blazers while Christina Jaques, and Chelsea Randle each had one hit. Sarah Burns took the loss in the circle giving up three unearned runs on four hits. Missy Duke grabbed the win for Faulkner pitching seven innings without allowing a run on just four hits.
